Went for a drive out into the country south of campsite, and very lovely it is. In fact what I thought Tuscany would be like, so you can deduce what I have seen of Tuscany has not lived up to expectations.
However we are surprised that we neither saw nor heard any animals, cows, sheep, goats, or pigs, yet go to Parma and there will be Parma ham and Reggio cheese in abundance. So what, we wonder, do they use to make them.
At the spot from where the photos were taken there was almost silence, no animals, no traffic, no birds, strange but equally pleasant.
